Shop and Save with Groupon Coupons

“Whoever says that money cannot buy happiness, doesn’t know where to shop!”

I actually developed an affinity to this quote that has stemmed way back in 2012. I mean, you have to know what you want. Those pieces of monetary bills may not equate to happiness per se, but these will surely be a means to get you what will.

I actually remember the pain from a broken heart easing, when I bought three new pairs of shoes one December night. I mean, I may be single (that time), but I (back then) have the most gorgeous snakeskin and suede high heels on the planet!

via-galang-3

But now that it’s 2017, and I kind of thought that I should be paying more attention on how I spend, it should come to people’s senses that managing one’s finances can bring a huge impact on how you set your priorities. BUT. There’s a big but. Shopping doesn’t have to be a gruesome experience to your conscience when you try to splurge on something you really want, and need!

Good thing, Groupon Coupons is here to save the day! Consequently, keeping up with shopping-until-you-drop is still amenable! Especially, if it’s for someone you love!

I know, I may have been pretty extravagant when it comes to spending cash before, but getting coupons to save on my shopping will do wonders once I plan to buy something. I may live in the Philippines, but it doesn’t mean I cannot avail the coupons. It basically serves a lot of locations in the west, and I may have to ask a friend or family to avail one for me, but who cares? I can still save by using my shopping coupons! And have them shipped here to my country.

So my dear International merfriends, this is something exciting for you! I know you will be delighted to use Groupon Coupons in your next purchases! Go check out their site, your ‘missing shopping piece’ awaits!

Follow them on Facebook and Twitter for more updates!

I’d also like to share that I recently bought Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book. And I am happy to announce that I’ve finished it in 3 hours! It’s THAT good! You see, during my free time, I always try to sneak in some reading because it basically fuels my mind now that I have started this blog. I can’t wait to get my hands on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, let alone watch the movie! 😀

I reckon it would always be a happy reading time whenever it is done in a serene place. It pays a lot when the surroundings are in tiptop shape and noise-free don’t you think?

via-galang

That is why a timely Christmas Rush Promo is here to help get you decide faster! Instead of buying a new gadget, why not invest it in something that will yield higher return in the future?

Here’s Your Chance to Win A Trip To Maldives

15032730_1178977425484983_2089190030319236802_n

OMG! OMG! OMG! I have studied about Maldives way back in college in our Asian  Civilization subject, and I was literally left breathless with all its splendor! Unpopular to some, but Maldives is considered one of the best, if not THE best summer destination in the world! Their “islands” are actually atolls, hardened corals, and I am wondering how it must feel to atoll-hop! 😀

If you have checked prices and packages of going to this dream destination, it may make our hearts sink because it’s particularly expensive! BUT, good news! Nailaholics may just make your dreams and mine come true!

15073385_1178977415484984_5279528427018696485_n

Walk into any Nailaholics branch and you are immediately ushered into a different world. The world quiets down, even for just a few hours, as you settle into the canopied seats. The gentle buzz behind its doors are reminiscent of the placid flurry typicaly found in beachside destinations. The colors evoke the calm of being beside the ocean.

Now, stepping inside a Nailaholics branch doesn’t just welcome you into a world of pampering, you’re actually taking your first step towards the Maldives; a destination recognized as this year’s best spa destination by industry, known for its clear, cobalt waters, hugged by a stretches of fine, delicate sand.

“Perhaps no other coastal destination has been so closely associated with the concept of relaxation,” says Glaiza Agbayani, Digital Manager  “This is why we chose Maldives as the perfect holiday treat for our loyal customers.”

15027898_1178977405484985_7084334667827580450_n

From November 10 to January 27, availing of any of the Nailaholics package services will entitile customers to one raffle entry for the chance to win a trip for two to the Maldives.

Entitled Holiday Flyaway, the lucky winner will enjoy a four-day, three-night stay at the Maldives and indulge in the very elements that inspired the experience and aesthetic behind Nailaholics.

Visit Nailaholics as often as you can during the promo period to get more chances of winning. There’s no better reason to keep heading back to your nearest branch for me-time.

Get Pampered and Stamped only at Nailaholics

15032730_1178977425484983_2089190030319236802_n

Having prepped up nails has always been a constant reminder on how much time I am putting in gorgeous effort to always look well-groomed and fabulous. With all the demands of work, it’s amazing how busy and working girls like me have the time and motivation to make our digits always extra-polished! I mean, who has time right?

Good thing, Nailaholics share the same sentiment and realize that every girl deserves to have some pampering time amidst all the kerfuffle of daily activities. Urban settings may pose a lot of stress, but living in a tropical country as well certainly has a lot of perks. Perpetually sunny days, year-round airy summer fashion, and an annual healthy glow thanks to a regular dose of vitamin D.

15036561_1178977492151643_6079713626122385391_n

This also means it’s nearly always sandal-seaon. While not necessarily a drawback, it does take a lot of work to make sure your tips and toes are perpetually ready to be on display.

This is probably the reason, on top of the need to indulge in some much needed me-time, why you frequent your favorite nail salon so much. But Nailaholics is making it a whole lot easier for you to make sure you keep your tips and toes in top shape, get pampered, and keep coming back for more.

15039688_1178977528818306_4409940038100880115_o

“Each visit to Nailaholics beginning November 21 until March 31 means you’re pampering yourself fora bonus little treat,” says Lorraine Baterina.

Avail of your regular manicure and pedicure or indulge in one of Nailaholics’ signature packages and treatments and make sure that you get you Pampering Card stamped. Get five stamps and you get your sixth mani-pedi for free.

“This is our way of making sure that you’re hands and feet are completely ready no matter what season, and of course, letting our loyal customers know that we appreciate them,” ends Lorraine Baterina, Brand Officer.

So what are you waiting for? Schedule an appointment now! Better set up for another girlfriend bonding, don’t you think?

Visit them in their branches:

Tip: Press ctrl+F and type in your preferred branch, it may be on the list! Mind you, scrolling can be tedious! 😀 Be sure to tag me @encyclopevia  in your IG posts about your new nails, okay? I wanna see!

Leave No Digit Unpolished at Nailaholics’ National Pampering Day

aaaaaaaaaa

“She’s got the six-carat Harry Winston on her bonyunpolished finger.”, says Elle Woods in Legally Blonde.

I remember watching this movie when I was younger, and began asking myself, “Does she really have to mention that observation? I mean, do nails really have to be polished all the time?”

Small wonders, but fast forward to 15 years after, I could say that it wasn’t meant literally, but rather connoted to something that warrants women should always take care of themselves. May it be via self-expression, passion, beautification, or relaxation: A woman should always look, think, and feel good about herself.

img_0893img_0905

And what better way to rejoice the delights of being a fabulous woman than celebrate it on the National Pampering Day!

img_0852img_0857img_0858img_1020
Consider this the best excuse to give yourself that much needed day of pampering.

Mark October 17 on your calendars—because from 10AM to 12 noon, you can head over to any Nailaholics branch nationwide and get a relaxing manicure and free hand massage for free.

Yes, you read that right! Embrace the bliss of getting pampered by the most trained and adorable nail fairies only at Nailaholics!

For many, a trip to the nail salon is a rare indulgence. All too often, work and the daily grind of busy schedules keep them from getting the necessary “me-time” that everyone craves and needs. But as Nailaholics celebrates and takes part in the country’s first ever #NationalPamperingDay, the brand hopes to remind everyone that it’s OK to take some time for yourself and indulge.

img_1039img_0951

img_0954

img_1074

Perhaps no other nail salon in the country is better known for having perfected the art of a quick, urban pampering the way Nailaholics has. Their interiors are inviting, their service is efficient, and the promise of getting whisked away from realities of looming deadlines, to-do lists, traffic, and whatever else awaits outside the doors of this quaint Hamptons-themed escape, becomes possible—even if it’s only for a few hours.

“We get that,” says Arvin Amaro, Marketing Head. “And it’s exactly why we we’re celebrating National Pampering Day. We want to give people who need a break a quick escape where they won’t have anything to worry about. So be sure that you head over to your nearest Nailaholics branch to get pampered for free.”

My pampering session made me sleepy after, for real! The interiors of the salon, sweet music, and how relaxed I felt when I was being pampered made me totally unaware of the time!

img_1163img_1196

Now, I am ready to bend, and snap! (Mimicking Elle Woods voice and steps!)

VERSAHEEL: A New Brand is Coming

“A woman with good shoes is never ugly.” – Coco Chanel

I have always been very keen with the shoes I wear. I kind of developed the habit of buying shoes that look either peculiar, weird, unusual, and totally over the top – basically anything that makes my heart beat in an instant. Life is too short to wear boring shoes, don’t you think?

So if the shoe design doesn’t make my heart thump like there’s no tomorrow, I’d rather pass. I know there are still so much more, out there.

This is my inspiration in creating my own shoe brand – Versaheel.

It’s a fusion of both the words versatile + heel . Because shoes should be able to keep up with our fast and dynamic lifestyle. It has to be something beautiful, stylish, comfy and versatile. Something that you’d rather wear than slippers! Haha Or I may be dreaming too much? But nevertheless, I’d like to present you the logo and the design of this new love.

I’ll have to change Vanessa into Via though. 🙂

Gorgeous credits to my ever talented graphic designer friend, Cara Garcia. You are a fountain of skill and art. You are more than just an artist, you are ART.

What do you think of the logo my dear merfolks? 🙂 I promise you, Versaheel is going to be amazing! Yay!

This is my gift to you, my fellow shoe-o-holics!

They WHIPPED My Hair Back and Forth (Sugar Wax & Body Scrub Salon)

I have always debated it in my mind on why there are certain things that we don’t want but still exist. Like poverty, crime, graft and corruption, unemployment, inflation, and under arm hair. Oooops. Lets respect this recognition, that all these are relevant issues we face today. You can compare them in so many levels! Haha 😀

Okay, I sounded too melodramatic on the under arm hair part. BUT, we always try to get rid of them, don’t we? Or if you’re hormonally imbalanced, you may have found yourself visiting the waxing salon more than once, in a month.

You see, I actually prefer going to waxing salons, because for the very shallow rant that I hate plucking. Aside from the effort I have to exert, I find it harsh to hurt and inflict physical pain to myself. I’d rather have somebody else do the job for me. Haha! Good thing I found Whipped!

Whipped Sugar Wax & Body Scrub Salon is a sweet haven for girls like me. This is perfect for those who love to maintain smooth and flawless skin. And with “those”, I mean everybody! This up and coming salon caters a lot of services, from waxing packages, individual area treatments, and body scrubs.

I went to their Ayala Fairview Terraces branch. It looked like a cupcake place outside, and it gave me a vibe of fluffy, delicate, and careful treats.

I was excited because it was my first time to try their service. To my delight, their prices are affordable too!

Since I recently bought some sleeveless dresses, I opted to have the Caramel Scrub + Sugar Wax for my pits. You know you’ve got to harvest the crops now!

The staff was really friendly and accommodating. Their white uniforms are a big plus too. The purity of white reminds me of guaranteed sanitation, fine services, and health and wellness professionalism.

My beauty technician, Ms Sheryl was so cordial and gracious with the entire procedure. Her hands were light, and she was keen to provide me a good and quality Caramel Wax and Sugar Scrub. That’s what I really like about their waxing services though. They give you the option of having your armpits’ skin exfoliated first, before they uproot the nightmare. Experiencing it firsthand made my underarms feel extra thankful. It’s truly a whole new fun way of getting smooth and silky underarms! I will definitely recommend these to my friends, and to you my merfolks!

Be Your Own Health Artist at the Health and Wellness Fair 2016

Being a nurse has allowed me to learn more about the human body, its strengths, weaknesses, potentials, conversions, mutations, capacity and inabilities to regenerate, multiply and heal, etc. I believe that you will always have a choice to take in things that will make you stronger, and avoid other facets that may mark you otherwise. Yes, I am righteous like that. 😀

Not to sound preachy or anything, but I strongly support creating and following a strict and healthy lifestyle, especially for young professionals like me. We are that population that is mostly exposed to whirlwinds of events. You can imagine just how many things you can do, situations you can encounter and people you can meet in a day. Can you imagine all the stress and sleep deprivation you had to endure to pass that report on time? Sometimes, it’s a wonder how can a day only have 24 hours! Yes, I feel you. But given that as a fact, I still highly vouch for healthy living. Because we can only function well and better, when all things are in order. Aside from our WiFi and gadgets, our life and well-being must be in order too.

Be it as it may, I am excited to share with you an upcoming event that will delight us with bazaar exhibits, workshops on arts, fitness and entrepreneurship; and talks by experts on health and wellnes. These are dedicated to help us live and practice the best kind of healthy lifestyle there is!

A Piano Concert You Can, in Any Way Not Miss

Abelardo Galang II is a world-renowned Filipino piano artist. And he is my uncle.

abelardo-galang-ii-2

In Butuan, where my dad and his siblings, including Tito Abel (how I call him) grew up, it is a common knowledge that a kid bearing the Galang surname is well-adept in playing the piano. My grandmom is a directress of the Galang Piano, Organ and Voice Studio for crying out loud! So you get the picture AND the pressure?

abel-carmen-galang

I recall befriending a kid in one of the resorts there, and when he learned that I am a Galang too, it seemed to him that it was natural to ask, “So magaling kang mag-piano?”. OMG. How wrong he was! The only piece I know how to play is “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. And no others.

I never had the interest as a child, or I was too afraid to learn. However, if I can turn back time, I would definitely want to acquire the skill, or rather develop the talent my Tito was able to nurture throughout the years.

Every Christmas, or in any time of the year that we get to be as complete as we can, my grandma or Mommy Two Carmen, (Mommy One is my real mom.) and Tito Abel would serenade us with their classic tunes from the grand piano. It’s such a wonder to hear them play every time, not to mention for FREE! Haha Thank God I’m family! Considering that they perform at concerts every once in a while.

To give you a background, you may read his bio below:

Abelardo Galang II,PhD.

abelardo-galang-ii

Berlin-based Filipino Pianist Abelardo Galang II learned his early piano skills from his mother, Carmen. Later, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance (1992) from the University of the Philippines. In the first and only piano competition Galang participated, he was awarded the Grand Prix in the 1992 Philippine Piano Competition along with a scholarship from Japan Solidarity Committee for Asian Alumni (JASCAA). Through this grant, he obtained two Master’s degrees in Music (Piano Solo Performance and Chamber Music) from Musashino Academia Musicae, Tokyo, Japan (1996) and the Hochschule fuer Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, Germany (2000) where he trained with the German Pedagogue, Klaus Bäßler, a former jury and chairman of the Robert Schumann International Piano Competition. He was also a recipient of the Alfonso T. Yuchengco Foundation scholarship. Galang obtained his Doctorate degree in Music with honours from the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany (2010).
